The Department of Mathematical Sciences has three annual awards given to extraordinary undergraduate mathematics majors. The award winners for 2002 are Gregory Buthusiem, Robert Freeman and Charles Osborne.
The awards winner for 2003 are the following:
An-ni Tsai: Mathematical Sciences Scholarship Award to a student who excels academically in Mathematics.
Ivy Tran: Mathematical Sciences Distinguished Service Award to a student who has given outstanding service in the advancement of mathematics education.
Phillip Barile: Career Motivation Award in Mathematics to encourage and motivate gifted undergraduate majors who have shown early promise of exceptional scholarship in mathematics.
Charles Osborne, Jr.: Leonard Bidwell Award presented to an undergraduate student to recognize distinguished participation in regional or national mathematical competitions or conferences.
